Tuesday 20th January: This lesson we made a second page in our scrap book and included a brainstorm for our title and another brainstorm for what our film will need to include.
This brainstorm consisted of ideas such as the fact that credits and titles had to be included, a variation of shots such as long shots, close ups, extreme close ups, panning, over the shoulder etc. We decided that we needed these shots due to the fac that a variation in shots would create different effects suitable for our horror movie. Long shots are suitable for a horror movie as they create a sense of unknown and help the audience to see a whole setting.
Close ups and extreme close ups can be used in horror movies to help convey emotion of characters and emphasis worry and keeps suspense.
Over the shoulder shots are relivant in our horror due to the fact that it shows a clip from the characters point of view, it can also hide identity which helps to create tension and a sense of unknown in a horror.
We agreed that a fast pace should be maintained when the opening sequence had eventually started to keep the audience interested adn keep their attention.
Adding to this we thought that sudden flash backs or flahs of images would be a good idea as this changes to mood of the movie and also helps to keep the audience's attention.
Sound effects such as breathing or footsteps would be a good way to scare and intise the audience as they are very strong and effective sounds.
During the brainstorm we decided that our target audience would be teenagers and that we would give the certification of 15 years, therefore we put frward the suggestion that we should have young actors/ actresses that are modern and stereotypical of teenagers of the 20th century.
